Six Master Classes
31th October 2016 - 5th November 2016
Six Master Classes explore the potentials of glass engraving, glass painting, silk screen, glass cutting, pâte de verre and flame-work in relation to the designing and creation of Graal glass.
Graal is understood as a technique of interlayer decoration: In six workshops we will work artistically on appropriate blanks. Our blanks will be reheated in the hot shop. Two teams of experienced master glass blowers will overcast them with clear glass and blow them into their final vase form on the blow pipe.
The Master Classes welcome advanced and professional artists, designers and glass crafts persons. All courses are lead by experienced glass artists. In the workshops and at its studio glass furnaces Bild-Werk Frauenau ensures professional technical assistance. In addition to the practical course. work lectures and discussions as well as the Frauenau environment with its glassworks and international Glass Museum offer inspiration and exchange.
Respecting the limited capacities in the hot shop there will be a minimum of two Graal blanks blown in the hot shop per person. In order to make maximum use of the course time, each course offer additional teaching beyond the realisation of Graal pieces.
